    Bad Egg

    This city brunch spot will remind you of an American diner. Run by London’s “BBQ King” Neil Ranken, Bad Egg started off as a pop up and is now referred to as a “permanent pop up”. It’s a crazily popular pop up too – waiting lists are weeks long even for weekend slots!

    It’s all for good reason though, the food is top notch. The menu combines Tex-Mex elements with a touch of greasy spoon to bring you ‘bad ass’ nachos, buffalo rib tips and pulled pork with kimchi on toast – all served with an egg on top.

    Angler

    This swanky, Michelin starred seafood eatery is the perfect place to impress your clients. Angler promise a smooth, fine dining service – perfect for their city clientele.     Bao is a big trend right now. These Taiwanese fluffy steamed buns are the most sought-after street food in London with queues for bao mimicking those you would expect at Disneyland! And it’s no wonder why – they are scrumptious! Time Out have called Mr Bao’s buns the “lightest fluffiest buns in London”.

    Bao’s buns are nearly twice the size of others and cost a reasonable £4 each. There are five types of fillings to try: shiitake mushroom, pork belly, fried chicken, tofu, and prawn. Sides are available and come highly recommended. There are options for meat eaters and vegans – something to keep everyone happy!

    They’ve got great quality coffee, mouth-watering food displays and a huge heated balcony overlooking the circle, making it the perfect place to catch up with colleagues or friends. Their all-day menu features healthy, protein packed dishes with an Aussie influence.     Coq d’Argent

    Located in the heart of the City of London, Coq d’Argent is a stone’s throw away from St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge – the perfect spot to take an international client. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday and, at the weekend, you can get brunch and dinner on Saturdays and lunch on Sundays.

    A busy lunchtime spot – banh mi, summer rolls and noodle salads fly out the door at this Vietnamese café. Don’t be put off by the noodle-esque queue that forms at City Caphe each day, it moves quickly and the food is worth the wait.

    The menu is in four main sections: Pho – noodle soups, Banh mi – Vietnamese baguettes, vermicelli salads and jasmine rice dishes. Each is available with beef, chicken, pork or tofu.
    Seating is limited in this little lunch spot, so order to go if you can.

    Bolton’s

Bolton’s 30 years of experience has taught them that only the finest, freshest ingredients will do when it comes to creating the those tasty Italian classics such as Scampi alla Provinciale and Costolette D’ agnello alla Griglia – (grilled lamb cutlets for those of you who aren’t fluent in Italian).

    Bolton’s is a favourite among the high-powered bankers and businessmen of Fenchurch Street and the surrounding area, earning a reputation as a place to network and entertain. The dining room oozes luxury and affluence, but like the food, it is both classical and unpretentious.

    Oklava

    Oklava is the first permanent restaurant from Selin Klazin following a number of successful popups in London. Inspired by her Turkish and Cypriot heritage, Oklava serves modern Turkish dishes and is completely unique in style and flavour.

    The menu features a selection of small plates for sharing that focus on the use of mangle – the charcoal grill and stone oven. There’s meat, fish and vegetarian dishes to suit all types of diners. Taking a trip to Oklava won’t break the bank either, the most expensive item on the menu is the roasted hake costing £19.

    Duck and Waffle

    Boasting a 360 degree view of London from its 40th floor location, Duck and Waffle is always open and ready to serve whether it’s a business lunch you’re after or a post-clubbing breakfast.

    Perched at the top of Heron Tower, you can expect on-trend food that ranges from spicy ox-cheek donuts to their sweet n’ savoury signature dish: duck and waffle served with maple syrup.

    Prices are as sky high as the 40-floor view but it certainly does impress. Book a window seat for the full effect.

    The Grill Restaurant City of London
