Step-free entrance
There is step -free access at the main entrance or an alternative entrance. This may be via a ramp or lift. An automatic door is available at the main entrance.
We provide two independent, stand-alone wheelchair-accessible toilets within our public areas. One is located on the ground floor in the main lobby area and is accessed via a single door; the other is situated on the sub-ground floor within the bar and restaurant area and is accessed through two doors in a series. Both facilities are clearly signposted and have door widths of 90cm with lever handles. The toilet seat height in both rooms is 49cm and the sink height is 72cm. In the ground floor lobby accessible toilet, the widest internal space measures 91cm.
Wheelchair and reduced Mobility Accessible Bedrooms
There are 14 wheelchair- accessible bedroom to accommodate wheelchair users and others with mobility impairments. This has as a minimum:
Fridge in bedroom
A fridge is available in all executive rooms for storing food, drinks, or medication. Guests in other room types can request a fridge to be provided. In addition, a dedicated fridge is available behind reception for storing medications if required.
Furniture rearranged in bedroom on request
To create additional space, furniture can be rearranged on request. Please email ahead of time to enquire.
Ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom
All bedrooms in the hotel have en-suite bathrooms. Accessible bedrooms are located on the ground floor and on the sixth floor, with lift access available to the upper floor to ensure step-free access. These accessible rooms feature fully accessible wet-room style bathrooms designed for ease of use by wheelchair users and guests with additional mobility needs. There is a fixed shower seat.
Step -free access to all or most areas
There is step-free access throughout almost all areas of the hotel. Guests can access all main public areas, including reception, the lobby, accessible toilets, and the bar and restaurant, without encountering steps. Lift access is available to reach different floor levels, ensuring convenient movement throughout the building. The only area that is not step-free is the Ailesbury Meeting Room, which is located in an older part of the building and is accessed via steps.
Stairs
The stairs include high contrast edges, handrails, and tactile paving at the top and bottom. An evacuation chair is also available in case of emergency.
Wheelchair -accessible food and beverage outlet
There is at least one wheelchair-accessible food and beverage outlet on site. The hotel’s bar and restaurant are wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and lift access available from other levels of the building. The layout provides sufficient space for wheelchair users to move between tables and access service areas.
Table service as standard or on request
Table service is available within the hotel. Breakfast is served buffet-style; however, assistance and table service can be provided on request for guests with accessibility requirements. In the bar and restaurant, food is provided by table service as standard. During busy periods in the bar, guests may be required to order at the bar for beverages; however, table service can be provided on request for guests with accessibility needs.
Dietary requirements
We endeavour to cater for guests with food allergies and specific dietary requirements, including gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, and other needs. As our kitchen is an open environment, we cannot guarantee complete absence of cross-contamination. Detailed menu and allergy information is available and can be requested by email in advance. Our chefs are happy to speak directly with guests to discuss their requirements, and we recommend informing your server of any allergies or dietary needs when ordering.

Outdoor area
We have a front lawn and garden area available for guest use. This area is located on hotel grounds and is bordered by fencing and hedging; however, it is not fully enclosed, and members of the public may access the area from the street

This sensory story is designed to help you understand what you might see, hear, smell, touch, and taste during your visit, so you can feel prepared and comfortable before you arrive.
Arrival at the Hotel
When you arrive at the hotel, you will see the main entrance clearly signposted. The entrance has steps but also a ramp. The doors are automatic. The area outside the hotel may include passing traffic sounds, people talking, and general city or street noise. As you enter, you may feel a change in temperature from outside to inside. The floor surface is smooth and firm underfoot or under wheels.
Reception and Lobby
The reception area is located on the ground floor. You will see a reception desk where staff are available to assist you. The lighting is consistent and may be bright at certain times of day. The lobby contains seating, tables, and decorative features. You may hear background music, telephones ringing, guests talking, or the sound of luggage wheels moving across the floor. At busier times, the area may be louder. At quieter times, it may feel calm and still. There may be a light scent from cleaning products or air fresheners. The seating in the lobby may feel soft or upholstered, while floors are firm and smooth.
Lifts and Corridors
Lifts are available to access upper floors. When using the lift, you may hear a bell sound when doors open and close. The lift may feel enclosed and contains mirrors and overhead lighting. Corridors leading to bedrooms are evenly lit. You may hear occasional footsteps, doors opening or closing, or distant voices. The carpeted flooring may feel soft underfoot and helps reduce noise. You may hear hoovers in the hallway or in adjacent rooms.
Bedrooms
When you enter your bedroom, you will see a bed, storage space, lighting, and an en-suite bathroom. Lighting can be adjusted using switches inside the room. Curtains or blinds can be closed to reduce natural light. The room may feel quiet, though you may sometimes hear distant hallway noise or outdoor sounds depending on the room location. Bedding is soft to the touch. Floors may be carpeted or smooth wood depending on room type. Temperature can be adjusted using the in-room controls in some rooms. Accessible bedrooms are available and include wet-room style bathrooms with open shower space and supportive fittings.
Bathroom
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Surfaces such as tiles, sinks, and fixtures are smooth and firm. Water from taps and showers may make a running sound. Hand dryers in public accessible toilets may produce a louder noise. Accessible bathrooms are wet-room style and provide open space for ease of movement.
Bar and Restaurant
The bar and restaurant are wheelchair accessible and can be reached step-free. At breakfast, food is displayed buffet-style. You may see and smell a variety of hot and cold foods laid out on counters. Our team can assist with table service on request. You may smell coffee, cooked breakfast items, or freshly prepared food. In the evening, the restaurant provides table service for food. The bar area may be busier and louder at peak times, with music playing and guests talking. You may hear background music, the sound of plates and cutlery, or drinks being prepared. Lighting may be softer in the evening. Food textures and flavours will vary depending on what you choose. Detailed allergy information is available, and staff can assist with dietary requirements.
