Welcome to the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road! 

We’re so excited to have you with us! 

This Access Welcome Guide has been created with care to assist our guests who may need extra accessibility features and support during their stay. Our goal is to ensure you have a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience from the moment you arrive until you leave. 

Inside this guide, you’ll find all the details you need about our accessible facilities, bedroom features, public areas, dining options, parking, and the services we offer to cater to your unique needs. We hope this helps you feel confident as you plan your visit! 

At Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, inclusivity and warmth are our top priorities. Our wonderful team is trained to help with a variety of accessibility requirements, and we are more than happy to chat about any specific needs you might have before you arrive.

3. Arrival & Location 

By Bus 

The Dublin Aircoach departs up to every 20 minutes and stops outside our front door. Journey time both to and from the airport is approximately 30 minutes. 

By Taxi 

The trip from the airport typically costs €35 and takes 30 minutes, but it can vary depending on traffic. Please note that all taxis accept cash, but not all accept credit cards. A dispatcher is available at the rank for assistance

Public Transport 

The Luas Green Line (tram) stops nearby at Charlemont (a 15-minute walk), linking to St Stephen's Green, Dundrum, Sandyford, and Cherrywood business parks. 

The Aircoach and Dublin Bus routes 7B, 7D, 11, 11B, 116, and 133 stop directly outside the hotel.

Parking 

On-site accessible parking spaces are located on the left side of the hotel entrance. Staff available to assist with luggage on request, our concierge team is available throughout the day. If you let us know your estimated time of arrival, we can assist you as best we can.

Step-free access to the main entrance from the left side of the hotel – coming from the disabled car park or from the front of the hotel following the walking path .

Electric Vehicle parking: As part of our commitment to more sustainable travel, guests with electric vehicles can now arrive and recharge their batteries.

Step-free access to the main entrance and throughout the ground floor – Wide doors suitable for wheelchairs and mobility aids.

5. Lift Access

  • All guest floors accessible via lifts
  • Lift controls positioned at an accessible height
  • Audible and visual indicators in lifts
  • Wide corridors for ease of movement

6. Accessible Public Toilets

Guest accessible toilets 

  • Step -free access with outward-opening door.
  • A manoeuvring space of 1500mm x 1500mm.
  • An outward-opening door, where possible, with a width of 870mm.
  • A transfer space on one side of the toilet with a drop -down grab rail on the transfer side.
  • Horizontal grab rail positioned on the wall adjacent to the toilet.
  • An emergency assistance alarm within reach from the floor.

7. Accessible Bedrooms

Clayton Hotel Burlington Road offers 15 fully accessible bedrooms designed to support guests with reduced mobility.

Bedroom features include: 

  • Step-free access from the lift
  • Wider doorways (up to 96.5cm)
  • Height of bed from floor to top of mattress - 64 cm
  • Widest free space at the side of the bed - 150 cm

Emergency Features: 

  • There is an emergency alarm with flashing lights in accessible bedrooms, to alert deaf guests to a fire or other emergency scenario.
  • A vibrating pillow pad alarm to alert deaf & hard-of-hearing guests in an emergency is available on request. Please inform our front desk upon check-in.

8. Accessible Bathrooms / En‑Suites

Clayton Hotel Burlington Road offers 15 fully accessible bedrooms designed to support guests with reduced mobility.

Bathroom features include: 

  • Emergency pull cords
  • Grab rails.
  • Walk-in or roll-in shower.
  • Fixed shower seat.

9. Dining & Social Spaces

Restaurant, Bar, & Public Areas

  • Step-free access to restaurant and bar areas
  • Tables suitable for wheelchair users
  • Gluten Free , Lactose-free, Vegan, Vegetarian dietary requirements are catered for, and a printed copy of the allergen information is available in each outlet

Meetings & Conference Facilities

  • Step-free access to meeting and conference areas
  • Accessible toilets located nearby in the Pre-function area.
  • Events team available to assist with specific requirements

Assistance and guide dogs are welcome.

11. Safety & Staff Training

Visual, Hearing & Hidden Disabilities

  • Staff are trained to provide discreet support
  • Visual fire alarms available in accessible bedrooms
  • Vibrating pillow alarms available on request

Emergency Procedures

  • Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) are available, and assistance is available.
  • Refuge points located on each floor
  • Evacuation chair, trained staff available to assist during an evacuation
